Coast to Coast, the word is out...

Coast to Coast, the word is out...

Locals and tourists alike are getting hip to Citizen Cupcake more and more every day! We've even earned a place on the NYTimes tourist-map for San Francisco-bound travelers. They know what's happening on this side of the bay, on this side of the USA! (click on the image to see the enlarged map, showing Citizen Cupcake right on Market Street!)

Inspirational Musings...

Inspirational Musings...

Citizen Cupcake Cafe + Bar welcomes local female vocalist Aoede to our stage for live music on Wednesday May 31 at 7pm. Aoede (ay-ee’-dee) is more than a musician; her presence is an entity. Come see-and hear-why. Lisa plays acoustic guitar and sings her own blend of original rock, pop and muse music for the soul, accompanied by the stylings of her not-so-silent partner, David Sands, on bass. Strong vocals combine with memorable melodies and catchy lyrics that keep you coming back for more.

Showtime 7pm. Never a cover.

Families/All ages welcome.

Singer/Songwriter/Smarta**?

Singer/Songwriter/Smarta**?

That's right you gotta see this gal right here on Wednesday night-she's for real. A real smart-a** that is...Angela Lum will perform Wednesday 5/24 at 7pm. Come listen to this 'deep throaty singer with the happy-to-go-on-an-uphill-climb vibe!' Rock the house with Leadbelly to Dolly, to her own brand of her rockerblues folkadelicgrass sound.

Kicking off this heck-of-a-show is one of Cupcake's favorite local female rockers, Tuffy Eldridge. We are in for a treat!

It's happy hour somewhere

It's happy hour somewhere!

Citizen Cupcake Cafe + Bar just upgraded the cocktail menu! A new trend is surfacing in the Bay Area bar scene: the latest cool choice in libations is the soju-based cocktail. Soju is a distilled rice spirit--these drinks fit the bill for a happy hour almost anytime of day! (it's not vodka but it still is 24% alcohol) Our new menu includes:

Apple-Tini

Pomegranate Cosmo

Haiku: a cucumber martini

Thai one on: ginger/lime

Lemon Drop

Come try one today!

Then maybe you'll say: Come for the cupcakes, stay for the cocktails!

Cutting-Edge Dinnertime Delights at the restaurant...

On my most recent visit to Citizen Cake I felt blessed to indulge in a few new dishes:

'Best new starter' for me was the ceviche, lovingly layered with mango, rich avocado puree and micro greens. Almost as good as dessert!

For an entree, what a treat to try the Chef's paella. It was filling and comforting, indeed; I never knew how much I like halibut cheeks.

And for dessert, we took a stroll down 'bourbon street', which was sweet potato pudding topped with streusel and served with sage brown butter ice cream. Delish!
